YOGA & PHYSICAL HEALTH

What are the criteria for having a good physical health ? Is it a muscular body or a lean & flexible body ? My answer is a big NO, because both of these conditions cannot ensure good health in physical level.

There are people who think, absence of ailments in bodily level alone as physical health. But, this is also a peripheral view. If we look this idea in a wider perspective, we can understand that absence of illness along with high endurance limit of the body and smooth functioning of internal & external organs in varieties of altered environmental conditions such and unfavourable climatic & contaminated conditions and immunity against pathogens altogether can be termed as good physical health.

Yoga practice will ensure the strength, endurance and smooth functioning of its systems and the whole body in all desirable and undesirable conditions. Let’s see one by one.

The above mentioned practices and other unmentioned yogic practices altogether can enhance ones physical capacity to it’s saturation. So it is mandate that, include all these in your practice to reach a desirable physical enhancement.

Not only physical health but mental health is also working complimentary to each other. One can not sustain better physical capacity without a good mental capacity. This topic can be discussed on another day.

Similar to yoga there are other traditional practices like KALARI (Indian martial arts) and TAI-CHI (Chinese martial arts) are also can be utilized to achieve favourable healthy body.  They also follows similar principles like yoga in their practices.  So a desirable aspirant should follow traditional rules and regulations of yoga to reach good physical health.
